At the heart Clinic, a qualified team of doctors will examine you and perform a detailed clinical assessment with clinical tools. They’ll will first take a detailed history by listening to your story try to accurately diagnose and treat your heart condition. The aim is to allow you to get back to your life as quickly as possible. We begin by first understanding the main reason for your visit, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, or fatigue. We then explore the details of the symptoms, including onset, duration, location, intensity, and factors that alleviate or exacerbate them. We enquire about any previous heart conditions, surgeries, or treatments including a history of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, or other risk factors for heart disease. We enquire about any family history of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks, strokes, or genetic conditions. We consider lifestyle factors like smoking, alcohol use, diet, exercise, and stress levels. We review current medications and any known allergies.
A Detailed Clinical examination is conducted. We assess the patient’s general appearance, including signs of distress, cyanosis (bluish discoloration of the skin), or pallor. We conduct Cardiovascular and Peripheral Vascular examination. We perofrm Auscultation using a Sthethoscope to listen to heart sounds and murmers.
We measure blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature. Observe for any abnormalities, such as hypertension or tachycardia. If required we conduct Ambulatory BP monitoring.
Other Clinical assesments that we perform if needed include
A Holter study, a special test we use to monitor the patient heart over a period of time, usually 24 to 48 hours. It’s like a longer version of an ECG (electrocardiogram), which is the test where we put small sticky patches with wires, called electrodes, on the chest to record the heart’s electrical activity.
Read MoreTTE, is a very important and safe test that we use to look at your child's heart. It’s completely non-invasive, which means we don’t need to do anything that would break the skin or be painful. It’s kind of like an ultrasound that you might have had during pregnancy, but this one is for the heart.
Read MoreTEE, is a special type of heart ultrasound that gives us very detailed images of your child’s heart. It’s different from the standard echocardiogram because instead of placing the ultrasound probe on the chest, we gently place it inside the esophagus (the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach) to get a closer view of the heart.
Read MoreIt is a simple and safe way for us to assess how well your child's heart and lungs are working together during physical activity. It helps us understand how much your child’s heart condition might be affecting their ability to do everyday activities.
Read MoreIt is a special type of heart ultrasound that provides us with a detailed, three-dimensional view of your child's heart. This technology allows us to see the heart in a way that’s much more precise than traditional 2D echocardiography, helping us better understand your child's heart condition.
Read MoreTDI, is a special type of ultrasound test that we use to take a closer look at how the patient’s heart muscle is working. It’s similar to a regular echocardiogram, but it gives us more detailed information about the movement of the heart’s muscle tissues. This helps us understand how well the heart is functioning, especially when it’s pumping blood.
Read MoreIt is a specialized type of heart ultrasound that we use to look at how the patient’s heart muscle is functioning. It helps us see how well different parts of the heart are working by measuring how much the heart muscle stretches and contracts with each heartbeat. This is important because it can detect problems with the heart’s function even before other symptoms or signs appear.
Read MoreA contrast study echocardiography is a special type of ultrasound test that we use to get a clearer and more detailed view of the patient’s heart. It’s very similar to a regular echocardiogram, but with one important difference: we use a special contrast agent, which is like a safe, harmless dye, to help us see the heart’s structures and blood flow more clearly
Read MoreStress echocardiography is a special test that helps us see how the patient’s heart works when it’s under stress, like during exercise. It’s similar to a regular echocardiogram, but we do this test to find out how well the heart can pump blood when it’s working harder than usual.
Read MoreIt is a special imaging test that we use to take detailed pictures of the blood vessels in your child’s lungs. This test helps us see if there are any blockages or other problems in the arteries that carry blood from the heart to the lungs. It’s especially useful if we’re concerned about conditions like a pulmonary embolism, which is a blockage in one of these arteries.
Read MoreIt is a special imaging test that allows us to take detailed pictures of your child’s heart. Unlike other types of imaging, an MRI doesn’t use X-rays; instead, it uses a strong magnet and radio waves to create very clear images of the heart and surrounding blood vessels. This helps us see how the heart is working and identify any problems, like areas of the heart that aren’t getting enough blood or issues with the heart’s structure.
Read MoreIt is a procedure we use to get detailed information about your child’s heart and the blood vessels around it. It’s especially helpful for diagnosing certain heart conditions or planning treatments. The procedure involves using a thin, flexible tube called a catheter to reach the heart through a blood vessel, and it allows us to see exactly how well the heart and its arteries are working.
Read MoreIt is a specialized procedures that allow us to treat certain heart problems in your child without needing open-heart surgery. These procedures involve using a thin, flexible tube called a catheter, which is inserted into a blood vessel and guided to the heart. Once the catheter is in place, we can use it to fix issues like narrowing of blood vessels, heart valve problems, or holes in the heart.
Read MoreIt is a major procedure that we sometimes need to perform to correct serious heart problems in your child. The surgery might be necessary to repair or replace parts of the heart, fix structural issues, or address problems that can’t be treated with less invasive methods. Our goal is to improve your child’s heart function and overall health.
